Mr. Hoo
Jame Shin Hoo, is called Mr. Hoo, Age 50. Mr. Hoo has shinny straight black hair, and has a broad face, reminds me of Yiruma, a composer and a pianist. Mr. Hoo specialize in authentic Chinese cuisine food, on the top floor of Sunset Towers. Mr. Hoo and his second wife (partner in restaurant) lives in 4C in Sunset Towers. In the Westing Game, Mr. Hoo was paired up with decorator, Gracie Windkloppel Wexler.
Their clues were; Fruited Purple Waves For Sea. Grace thought the clues must have something to do with purple waves because the doorman, Sandy said something about it. She also thinks the murder must live in, "for sea" but, Mr Hoo said if Sam Westing wanted to say 4C he would have wrote a 4 and a C and anyways Mr. Hoo lives their. When Jake Wexler helped them, they got the answer. Instead of Purple Waves, Purple Fruited, plum of grape. Plum was the name of the lawyer and if you take ed from fruited you get Ed. Plum. The coffee shop was sending Mr. Hoo's restaurant to the poorhouse. Mr.Hoo thinks Grace smokes to much but, see says he eats to much. He doesn't really like Grace, he thinks of her as a bigot. Sandy calls him Jimmy for some strange reason. Also, Mr.Hoo hates parties. He was positioned as a restaurant the first time around and the second time he was listed as an inventor. He knew Sam Westing because, he had stolen his idea of the disposal diapers and when Sam Westing was going to court he got into an accident. Hoo's latest invention is the paper innersoles. Hoo didn't like the game he said "Haven't we had enough game playing and confessed by a bomber no less". He was always unhappy. He describes his son, Doug Hoo, as obedient, dumb jock, and lazy. Mr.Hoo dosen't ask questions. The day everybody returned to the Westing House to give their answer, Mr.Hoo and Grace's answer was, "E.J Plum", the lawyer. They didn't win thought Turtle Wexler and Flora Bambuch won. |
After The Westings GameYears after the Westing Game, Mr. Hoo became less angry and stouter. Hoo opened a new restaurant called "Hoo's Little Foot-Eze" business bombed in Milwaukee, Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles loved it. Hoo promised his wife before he opened his restaurant, that if Milwaukee likes his business he would take her to China. His son became a sports announcer and had 2 gold medals in a row. Eventually one day Hoo, died without taking his wife to China but, she went without him.
