Conclusion
At the end their was no murder at all, it was Sam Westing in the disguise of Alexander McSouthers, also known as Sandy, Barney Northrup, and Julian R. Eastman. North, south, east, west. All of these names were a disguise, Sam Westing faked his death. Their was no murder. At the end though, he died on the Fourth of July because of old age. In the will when it said, "my life was taken from one of you heirs": it meant that when he changed into Alexander Southerners he was a different person and that took Sam Westing away from his life. In the book, the author made you interpret the way the people in the book did they amused like it was a heir not in disguise. Thats what good authors do.
